Hallowed be your name, Queen of my world
Happy were the days destiny displayed
I looked up and behold, I beheld
A charming creature, the definition of beauty
The soles of my soul brought me close
So close to the iron gate of your garden
And within it planted I, the seed of my love
Your bosom nurtured it to grow
The words of your mouth, a healing to the soul
So succulent are your lips
And soft are the carvings of your chest
Your presence illuminates my world
I call you Diane, and you stood your identity
An emblem of Chastity
That which once brought us together,
Today puts asunder
Forever your name is scribbled on my lips
And your perfume, an indelible stain on my regalia
That you're gone, I wished was a dream
But wishes they say, are not horses
I only find consolation in your consoling words:
That man proposes, but God disposes
In Her Memory
Peter Nchumba Biligrini
Poet's note: I dedicate this poem to the very first love of my life Diana. Though things didn't turn out as expected, our souls are still glued.
We came into terms that whatever is not meant to be , no matter the amount of care and love given, will never be. The destiny that once brought us together has today separated us. Though we didn't like it wish it that way, but the deed has been done.
