How can we cause this land to see
Through the history of you and me
Exposing a system that for so long
Produced results that are so wrong
A justice system of retribution
Diminishing the impact of true restitution
An attitude that is so sublime
You did the crime, now do the time
What exactly do we learn
Are we destined to return
A society with no understanding
Continually screaming and demanding
Return the death sentence with all it's might
Do two wrongs really make a right
God's laws advocates further
Thou shall not commit murder
A command that today still stands
Do we really want blood on our hands
Restorative Justice we should embrace
As offenders our steps we retrace
Allowing victims to speak and explain
Venting their suffering and easing their pain
Re-integation and reform
Belong to inmates who have this platform
Restorative justice has the scope
To accept the punishment, yet offer the hope
Always focussed and sure to mention
That through Christ we have redemption
If past behaviours we can mend
Then into society we'll successfully blend
