Womanhood is a pride
Tied around her waist
To package her mountain
In her little boubou;
Heavy backside complimenting
Her radiant black skin
To showboat her beauty;
To tell the story of her resilience.

Fashionly dressed in her africana
With her head tie knotted
To soothe her submissive presence,
She carries the fabric of our shared traditions
Eligantly through the window of a world
Demoralized with nudity.

I salute her; Woman of the dinning table.
She carries the sun on her shoulder
While counting her dancing steps in the ashes
of broken dreams
To placed her sweat in the bowl
Of contentment, and of fufillments.
